NAV SINGH SIDHU
Nav Singh Sidhu is an retired Indian Cricket Legend. He was a great batsman of his time.Nav Singh Sidhu was born on 20 October 1963 (age 51) in Patiala, Punjab, India. He is known by his nickname Sheri Paaji and Sidhu Paaji, Nav Singh.
On, 12 November 1983 he started his test career against West Indies and on 9 October 1987 ODI debut against Australia.
Navjot’s finest moment in Tests was his 201 run innings against West Indies in 1996–97, a defiant knock lasting 11 long hours. Known for his tendency to attack spinners, he cracked eight sixes in 124 against Sri Lanka in 1993–94, and four fifties in five innings against the Australians in 1997–98, deliberately singling out Shane Warne a known spinner of that time.
In 1999, he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. But, Sidhu never sat back home like other retired player’s. After, retirement he took up television commentary and politics. He got lots of love as a commentator as his commentary involved shayari and logic. In, politics he earned lots of respect and won elections from Amritsar twice.
At present he is a guest of Honour in India’s most popular Comedy show -“Comedy Nights with Kapil”.
Nav Singh made a special appearance in the film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.

Sidhu started his career as a commentator for Takeshis castle sport when Indian cricket team toured Sri Lanka in 2001. He however later became a commentator with ESPN Star Sports. As a commentator, Sidhu was noted for his one-liners, which came to be known as “Sidhuisms”.
After he was sacked from ESPN-Star for swearing on air, he worked for Ten Sports. He also regularly appears as a “cricket analyst” on various Indian news channels and is noted for being possibly the most loved & famed figure in international commentary today.He started to work again for ESPN Star Sports in 2012.Nowadays he is a Hindi commentator.
He also figured as a judge on the television programme – “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.” He also appeared in other similar programmes as “Funjabi Chak De.” He has acted in a TV series called Kareena Kareena as himself. He was a contestant in a reality show called the Bigg Boss 6 and had to make an exit from the show on account of political grounds.
He currently is featuring in a comedy show named Comedy Nights With Kapil
